The City of Watervliet Police Department is creating a Chief’s Advisory Board (CAB) in the interest of transparency, forming meaningful partnerships and providing a voice to the diverse community we serve. The establishment and existence of the CAB will afford our agency to continue building trust and legitimacy within the community.

The board will be comprised of twelve members who represent cross segments of our city and will include representatives of the school districts’ administration and student population, business improvement district, faith-based community, minority community, senior population, housing authority residents, as well as uptown and downtown neighborhoods.

The board will serve as a community resource for the police department and chief of police in the formation of public safety strategies, development of policies and procedures, community policing initiatives and to increase public awareness. The board is intended to provide a forum for discussions surrounding community concerns and allow for community feedback on the delivery of services.
