City of Watervliet Declares State of Emergency

* CITY OF WATERVLIET DECLARES A STATE OF EMERGENCY *

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the City of Watervliet has declared a State of Emergency effective immediately. In doing so, the declaration allows City Administration, Watervliet Police Department, and Watervliet Fire Department the ability to take immediate steps should the outbreak escalate further. The State of Emergency declaration will allow our public safety departments to obtain personal protective equipment (hand sanitizer, gloves, masks, etc.) in a more efficient manner.

As the situation continues to develop, we want to ensure residents that city administration is working vigilantly with county, state, and federal administrations to continuously monitor COVID-19.

If you have not already done so, we urge ALL residents to sign up for our emergency notification system NIXLE. Sign up by texting “VLIET” to 888777 or by visiting our website at www.WatervlietPolice.com. Also be sure to follow our Facebook and Twitter (@VlietPolice) accounts for updates.
